Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Deck Optimizer work?

Select 1-2 familiars you already have, and the optimizer analyzes all possible third cards.

It calculates synergy scores based on:

  • Element matching (same or all different)
  • Type matching (same or all different)
  • Potential activation conditions
  • Combined bonus potential

Results are ranked to show you the best options first.

What makes a good familiar combination?

Good combinations activate multiple potential conditions. There are two main strategies:

  • All Same: 3 familiars with the same element or type triggers "All Same" condition bonuses
  • All Different: 3 familiars with unique elements or types triggers "All Different" condition bonuses

Some builds can satisfy both an element condition and a type condition simultaneously for maximum synergy.

Should I prioritize element or type matching?

It depends on your available potentials. Check which conditions your familiars' potentials require:

  • If your potentials trigger on element, prioritize element matching
  • If your potentials trigger on type, prioritize type matching
  • If you have mixed potentials, try to satisfy multiple conditions

The optimizer considers both factors in its recommendations and shows you which conditions each combination satisfies.

Can I use the optimizer with familiars I don't own yet?

Yes! The optimizer is great for planning your farming targets.

Select the familiars you want to build around (or already have), and see which third cards would complete the best synergies. Then focus your farming efforts on those specific monsters.

Check our Familiars Database to see which region each familiar comes from.

How are the results ranked?

Results are ranked by a synergy score that considers:

  • Number of conditions satisfied (element + type)
  • Strength of potential bonuses that would activate
  • Rarity of the combination (harder to achieve = potentially stronger)

Higher scores indicate better overall synergy. However, the "best" choice may also depend on which familiars are easier for you to obtain.

What is the difference between Average and Max score calculation?

The Score Calculation mode changes how dice values are factored into synergy scores:

  • Average: Uses the expected (mean) dice value for each tier. For example, a Unique tier familiar averages 3.5 dice (range 1-6). This gives you realistic expected outcomes.
  • Max: Uses the maximum dice value for each tier. For example, a Unique tier familiar uses 6 dice. This shows the theoretical upper limit when all dice roll max.

In Max mode, multiplier bonuses become more valuable since they scale with larger numbers. Use Average for realistic expectations, and Max to see the best-case scenario where multipliers shine.
